About Oxbridge Baby

Helping children say their first words since 2005 - from a London studio to families worldwide

Learn to Talk was created by Oxbridge Baby, a British production company that has been making preschool learning media since 2005.

It started with a simple idea: create gentle, engaging videos that help children say their First Words. Our original Learn to Talk DVD, developed with Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist Gillian Hart, became a word-of-mouth hit with parents around the world.

From there, the Oxbridge Baby YouTube channel grew to over 2.5 million subscribers and more than 1 billion video views. But parents kept asking the same thing: “We need more. And we need it somewhere ad-free and safe.”

So we spent years building exactly that.

Learn to Talk - The App

The result is the Learn to Talk app, featuring our exclusive 25-episode Learn to Talk series alongside hundreds more preschool videos, interactive games, Baby Sign Language, and a complete set of free parent education resources.

Everything that made the original DVD work – the multi-sensory approach, the careful pacing, the Baby Sign Language – is here, expanded across 25 brand new episodes covering 25 different preschool themes.

It’s only available in the Learn to Talk app.

How We Create Content That Works

We’ve spent 20 years learning what helps children say their First Words. Our approach is built on four principles:

Storytelling meets learning. Every puppet show, animation and song has a purpose. We blend engaging storytelling with proven multi-sensory learning techniques, so children are drawn in naturally.

Structured repetition. Children learn through patterns. Key words appear again and again in different contexts. Simple phrases repeat with gentle variation. Songs stick in little minds. This careful repetition helps children recognise, remember, and eventually say words themselves.

Every sense engaged. Bright visuals show what words mean. Clear voices demonstrate how they sound. Music makes them memorable. Movement brings them to life. When children experience words through multiple senses, learning happens naturally.

Paced for little ones. Our videos move at just the right speed – quick enough to hold attention, slow enough to process. We pause after key words, giving children time to absorb and even attempt sounds. No rushed dialogue, no overwhelming stimulation.

Who We Make This For

For parents eagerly waiting to hear those First Words. For families who want quality learning content for a child developing typically. For those with late talkers who need a bit more time and encouragement. For anyone who wants something better than generic children’s content.

We understand the excitement of early milestones. We understand the worry when words don’t come as expected. We’ve created something that helps every family, wherever they are on their journey.

20 Years and Counting

From our first DVD in 2005 to a billion YouTube views to the Learn to Talk app – we’ve never stopped finding new ways to help children find their voice.

Some things haven’t changed: we’re still based in London, still family-run, still committed to quality over quantity, and still believe that learning should feel like play – not a lesson.
